Envisioning a new town center on beautiful Mount Desert Island for Community, Hospitality, and the Arts

Village Green Perspective

The Village Green plaza is a streetscape of shops, galleries and outdoor event venues located in the center of Southwest Harbor. The anchor attraction will be the 150 seat ACADIA ARTS CENTER, a multiuse facility for the performing arts and community functions situated in a renovated American Legion Hall.

Located on a wooded hillside overlooking the harbor the adjacent ISLAND WATCH CREATIVE CENTER will compliment the mission of the ACADIA ARTS CENTER, providing accommodations, classes and studio space for visiting artists, educators and their families.

Fishermen, farmers, artists, boatbuilders and educators have long been attracted to this seaside village. The arts complex continues this appreciation of our island home. We look forward to your support.

If you would like to make a donation, please visit our Donors' Page. Thank you!

In 2015, we began to plan a greater use of an underutilized district in Southwest Harbor. We envisioned a space where both for profit and non-profit entities work together to create a new and vibrant community square. PLEASE JOIN US AS WE BUILD:
